A charger with a higher ampere setting will charge a battery faster if a compatible charger is used. Using a batter charger with a higher charge rate can badly damage the battery.
It is always mandatory to go through the specifications of the battery before buying any Schumacher battery charger. Using a charger with a 2 ampere charge rate will take a very long time to charge a larger battery primarily because in this situation the larger battery discharges faster than it can be charged. Thus for larger batteries it is always commendable to use a battery charger with a higher charge rate of 6-amperes or 10-amperes.
